Orangeburg Consolidated School District Five (OCSD5) honored thirty-one retirees at a Retirement Celebration Dinner in May. As a group, the retirees had a combined 584 years of service to the district.
Vernon Stephens, Vice Chair of the OCSD5 Board of Trustees, was the Master of Ceremonies for the event. He was joined on the program by by Superintendent Dr. Jesse Washington and Board of Trustees members Mary Ulmer, Henry Jenkins, Idella Carson, Sam Farlow, Susan Gleaton, and Julius Page who extended their appreciation and best wishes for the retirees. A special tribute was given by Karen Rast Blackwell, a 2015 retiree. The vocal group “Appointed” entertained the retirees with a selection of inspirational music.
