Mrs. Velummylum taught middle school and high school for 22 years. Her experience includes 10 years of high school teaching internationally. She also has experience teaching college level courses. The courses Mrs. Velummylyum has taught and is currently teaching are as follows: 

International Courses: General Math, Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Physics

Middle School Courses: 7th Grade Math, 8th Grade Math, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra I

High School Courses: Algebra II, Geometry, Probability and Statistics, and Pre-Calculus

College Level Courses: College Algebra and Pre-Calculus


Mrs. Velummylum is originally from Sri-Lanka, and she has been married for 32 years. She has two sons and one daughter. She earned her B.S. in mathematics from the University of Jaffna Sri-Lanka and taught there as a high school teacher for 10 years. She received her B.S. in computer science from Claflin College and graduated as valedictorian (with 4.0 GPA) of the class of 2002. She also earned her M.Ed. from South Carolina State University. Currently, she is teaching at North Middle High School and serves as the math department chair.
